Jim T gets the wheels turning on our first club ride for 2019 taking in the Cheshire countryside on a 28 mile circular ride.
It starts at the Saracens Head pub in Warburton, makes its way to Dunham Massey and then over the River Bollin past the Swan with 2 Nicks bar and restaurant. From here it’s on towards to Tatton Park, but unfortunately today we skirt the park as it’s closed on Mondays during the winter months.
Knutsford is next up and its proposed to have a short break here – there are a number of café’s and eating places in the town centre. After our break we make our way towards Over Tabley, along Cann Lane, across the M6 motorway and along Crouchley Lane into Lymm.
We detour around Lymm Dam before leaving the village along the cobbled Pepper St, leading to a short stretch on the Bridgewater Canal and back along Mill Lane to our start point at the Saracens Head.
The ride has a total ascent of 593 feet with a maximum elevation of 228 feet and is suitable for all types of bikes but road bikes may rattle a bit along the short cobbled Pepper Street.
Jim T is leading the ride, Phil B, Denis, Richard, Sue, John S, Graham, Tony & John P are already joining him, will you also be going along?
