Home > Outings > Trencherfield Tuesday Ride

Starting from Trencherfield Mill, Heritage Way, Woods Street, Wigan WN3 4AT

Our Tuesday Trencherfield ride will start at 9:30 am and will cover approx 18 to 20 miles, give or take.

The routes will change every week and invariably use a mix of road (some quiet, others not so quiet) cycle path, trail and towpath. Usually aim to be out for about 2 hours, a little more some weeks, (even more on others). The routes are over a mix of terrain, undulating is probably the best description, some weeks more undulating than others (depends who’s leading on the day). Due to the nature of some of the terrain a mountain type bike or hybrid would be our recommendation.

Post ride it will be drinks etc at the Community Cafe in the nearby Community Warehouse, ideal opportunity as well to call in and see Simon at Gearing Up for any spares and repairs that may be needed!

Non members are very welcome to come along for a ride or two before joining, all we ask is that you fill out one of our membership forms before doing so and bring it along with you as well as your own bike & helmet to use on the ride.

No need to let us know if you’re coming along, just turn up on the day!

Membership forms are available for you to download from the website (About Us Page)

I am aged 71 and have suffered health issues. Having not ridden a bike x 60years I purchased a hybrid E bike to help me get some independence back (NB: I lost my driving licence due to health issues).
With an E bike …..would I be allowed to join?
    Thanks
